Dishwasher Making Loud Noises in Yorba Linda

Here in Yorba Linda's master-planned communities, we're seeing a lot of noisy dishwasher calls in those beautiful four and five-bedroom homes along Bastanchury Road and up in the Horse Country developments. The newer construction means most residents have Samsung, LG, and KitchenAid dishwashers, with some premium Thermador and Sub-Zero units in the higher-end builds near Black Gold Golf Club. What's interesting is that even these relatively new appliances are developing noise issues faster than expected, and it's largely due to our local conditions.

The hard water that's common throughout this eastern edge of Orange County is a major culprit. Those minerals build up on spray arms and pump components, creating grinding sounds that homeowners mistake for normal operation. We also see issues from the dust that blows down from the Santa Ana Mountains and settles everywhere during those dry wind events. This particulate matter finds its way into dishwashers through dish loading and creates debris that rattles around the wash pump and chopper blade assemblies.
