Dryer Won't Start in Saugus

Here in Saugus, we see dryers that won't start more frequently than in many other parts of the Santa Clarita Valley, and there's good reason for that. Many of the ranch-style homes built in the 1960s and 70s throughout the community still have their original electrical panels and wiring, which can create voltage fluctuations that stress dryer control boards and thermal fuses. These older homes often have laundry rooms tucked into garages or back corners where ventilation isn't ideal, causing dryers to work harder and components to fail sooner.

The newer developments along the Bouquet Canyon corridor present their own challenges. Builders in these areas often installed economy-grade electrical outlets in laundry rooms, and we frequently find loose connections that prevent proper power delivery to Samsung and LG dryers. Combined with our hot, dry Santa Clarita climate that can reach 110°F in summer, these electrical issues become magnified. The extreme heat causes plastic components like door latches and thermal fuses to become brittle and fail, especially in south-facing laundry rooms that bear the brunt of afternoon sun.
