Microwave Turntable Not Spinning in Rancho Santa Margarita

In Rancho Santa Margarita's planned communities, we're seeing a surge of microwave turntable failures in homes built during the city's 1990s construction boom. Those original Whirlpool and GE over-the-range microwaves that came standard in developments along Antonio Parkway and near RSM Lake are hitting the 25-30 year mark, and the turntable motors are giving out. The compact kitchen layouts popular in RSM's townhome clusters, especially around Dove Canyon and the neighborhoods near Tijeras Creek, mean these microwaves get heavy daily use from families reheating everything from school lunches to dinner leftovers.

What makes turntable problems particularly frustrating here is how these planned neighborhoods were built with matching appliance packages. When one Whirlpool or Maytag microwave starts having turntable issues on a street, we often get calls from three or four neighbors within the month experiencing the same problem. The newer Samsung and LG units going into kitchen remodels aren't immune either — RSM's fine dust from the Santa Ana winds works its way into the turntable mechanism, and the hard water creates mineral deposits that can jam the rotation system over time.
