Microwave Door Won't Close in Orange

Microwave door problems are surprisingly common in Orange homes, especially in the vintage Craftsman houses around Old Towne where original 1920s cabinetry has been retrofitted with modern appliances. Those narrow kitchen spaces mean microwaves often get wedged into tight spots above ranges or squeezed between cabinets, putting extra stress on door mechanisms every time they're opened. We see this frequently on our Orange route — door latches that get misaligned from repeated contact with cabinet frames, or torsion springs that wear out faster from the awkward angles residents have to use to access their microwaves.

The student rental properties near Chapman University present their own challenges. College renters tend to be rougher on appliance doors, and we regularly get calls from landlords dealing with broken door hooks or damaged latches on the Samsung and LG microwaves popular in those rental units.
