Oven & Range Burner Won't Light in Highland Park

Highland Park's mix of century-old Craftsman homes and recently flipped properties creates a perfect storm for gas burner ignition issues. In the original kitchens along York Boulevard and the hillside streets near Mount Washington, we regularly encounter vintage gas ranges with decades of cooking residue clogging burner ports – especially in homes where the original cast iron grates have never been properly deep-cleaned. The neighborhood's love for entertaining and home cooking means these older ranges get heavy use, and grease buildup becomes a real problem.

The flipped homes present their own challenges. When developers install new Samsung or Bosch gas ranges in these renovated Victorians and bungalows, they often reuse the original gas lines without proper cleaning or pressure testing. We've found construction debris, old pipe compound, and even paint chips blocking gas flow in newly installed ranges. The combination of old infrastructure and new appliances creates ignition problems that wouldn't occur in either a fully original or completely new kitchen setup.
