What Error Code OF OF Means
OF OF on your Samsung refrigerator display means the unit is in Demo Mode (also called Cooling Off Mode or Shop Mode). In this mode, the lights and display work normally, but the compressor and fans are turned off. The refrigerator is not cooling at all. Retail stores use Demo Mode to display the fridge on the showroom floor without running the cooling system. This mode also activates accidentally when certain button combinations are pressed during cleaning or by children. Your display shows OF OF, O FF, or OFF depending on the model.
Common Causes
Accidental button press combination
Demo Mode activates when you press and hold specific button combinations on the display panel for 3-5 seconds. Cleaning the control panel with a wet cloth or children pressing buttons triggers it.
Showroom unit not deactivated
The refrigerator was on display at a retail store and Demo Mode was never turned off before delivery to your home.
Power surge reset
A power outage or surge reset the control board to factory defaults, and on some Samsung models, Demo Mode is the factory default state.
How to Fix It

Exit Demo Mode (most Samsung models)
Press and hold the Energy Saver button and the Freezer button simultaneously for 3 seconds. The display changes from OF OF to the normal temperature readout. On French door models, the buttons are sometimes labeled Power Freeze and Power Cool instead.

Alternative button combination
If step 1 did not work, try pressing and holding the Freezer button and the Alarm button (or the Fridge button and the Alarm button) simultaneously for 3-5 seconds. Different Samsung models use different button pairs to toggle Demo Mode.

Try the touchpad reset for touchscreen models
On Samsung models with a full touchscreen display, press and hold the top-left and top-right corners of the screen simultaneously for 8-10 seconds. A hidden menu appears. Select the option to disable Demo Mode or Cooling Off Mode.

Power-cycle if buttons do not respond
Unplug the refrigerator for 2 minutes. Plug it back in. Immediately attempt the button combinations from steps 1-3 within the first 30 seconds of power-up, before the board locks into Demo Mode again.

Verify cooling has resumed
After exiting Demo Mode, check that the display shows normal temperature readings (typically 37 degrees F for the fridge and 0 degrees F for the freezer). Listen for the compressor humming and fans running. Place a thermometer inside the fridge and check after 2 hours — the temperature should be dropping toward the set point.
