Book My Video Diagnosis — $49

Texas is a big state with big appliance problems. The heat, the hard water, and the booming population all take a toll on home appliances. And finding a good repair tech in time? In most Texas metros, you're looking at 4-7 day waits and $89-125 service call fees. A $49 video diagnosis gives you same-day answers from a tech who's been doing this since 1990.

Why homeowners are switching to video diagnosis

4-7 day wait times in DFW and Houston

Texas's rapid growth means repair companies are slammed. In the DFW metroplex and Greater Houston, a week-long wait is normal for non-emergency calls.

$89-125 service call fees across major metros

Before they even look at your appliance, you're paying almost $100. And that fee only gets applied to the repair if you hire them — otherwise it's just gone.

Hard water in most of the state

Texas water hardness ranges from moderate to extreme depending on the area. This causes mineral buildup in dishwashers, water heaters, and washing machine water inlet valves.

Summer heat pushes refrigerators harder

When your garage hits 110°F in August, that garage fridge or freezer is working overtime. Compressor failures spike during Texas summers.

Appliance issues specific to Texas

  • Hard water deposits clog dishwasher spray arms, water inlet valves, and washing machine hoses
  • Summer heat (100-110°F) causes refrigerator compressors to work overtime, shortening lifespan
  • Humidity in Gulf Coast areas causes mold in front-load washers and rust on appliance components
  • Frequent power fluctuations during storms can damage control boards and compressors

We're based in California, and that's actually an advantage

We don't do repairs in Texas — and that means we have zero incentive to oversell you on a repair. When we tell you a Samsung ice maker needs a $150 fix or your 12-year-old fridge isn't worth repairing, that's an honest opinion. We don't make more money if you choose repair or replacement. That independence is worth $49.

Use your diagnosis to get fair quotes

Take the written report from your video diagnosis to 2-3 local repair companies. You'll get better quotes because the companies know you already know what's wrong — no room for inflated diagnoses or unnecessary upsells. Our customers in Texas regularly save $100-300 on repair bills just by knowing the diagnosis before they call.

FAQ

Can you really diagnose my appliance from California?+

Appliance problems are the same everywhere. A Samsung ice maker fails the same way in Houston as it does in LA. The diagnosis is about symptoms, sounds, and visual inspection — all things we can evaluate over video. We've diagnosed appliances for customers in 40+ states.

What if I need an actual repair after the diagnosis?+

You'll have a written report with the exact problem, part numbers, and cost estimate. Call a local repair company, give them the diagnosis, and get a quote. Many companies will waive or reduce their diagnostic fee if you already know what's wrong.

How does hard water affect my appliances?+

Hard water leaves mineral deposits (scale) inside water-using appliances. In dishwashers, it clogs spray arms and reduces cleaning. In washers, it builds up in the inlet valve. In refrigerator water lines, it can cause ice maker problems. Regular descaling helps, and a water softener addresses the root cause.

My garage freezer died in July — is this common in Texas?+

Very common. When ambient temperature exceeds 90-100°F, the compressor works constantly and can overheat or fail. Garage freezers in Texas should ideally be in a climate-controlled space. If yours died, it could be the compressor or just the start relay ($50-150). A video diagnosis will tell you which.
