Viking Oven & Range Burner Won't Light

Viking ranges are built with commercial-grade components that require precise alignment and maintenance. The dual-flame burner system on Viking professional ranges uses a more complex ignition setup than standard residential units, with spark electrodes positioned closer to the burner caps for reliable ignition under high-BTU conditions. When these electrodes become misaligned even slightly, or when the commercial-grade spark modules fail, the entire ignition sequence can be compromised.

The sealed burner design on Viking ranges, while excellent for easy cleaning, creates unique challenges when burner ports become clogged with food debris or when moisture gets trapped under the burner caps. Unlike standard ranges, Viking's high-output burners generate more heat and operate at higher gas pressures, making proper electrode spacing and clean burner ports absolutely critical for consistent ignition. The spark ignition modules on Viking units are also more sensitive to voltage fluctuations and tend to fail more frequently than those on standard residential ranges.
