Kenmore Dryer Loud or Squeaky

Kenmore dryers, manufactured by Whirlpool, GE, and LG depending on the model series, each exhibit distinct noise patterns based on their underlying manufacturer. Whirlpool-built Kenmore units (model numbers starting with 110) commonly develop squeaking from their tri-roller drum support system, where the rear drum roller bearings fail first due to lint accumulation in the roller housing. The front drum glides on these units use a Teflon-coated felt material that wears thin over time, creating a distinctive scraping sound against the drum rim.

GE-manufactured Kenmore dryers (model numbers starting with 417) feature a different drum support design with two rear rollers and front glides, but their idler pulley assemblies are notorious for developing a high-pitched squeal when the plastic pulley wheel cracks or the bearing seizes. LG-built Kenmore units use a unique drum spider assembly that can create rattling sounds when the mounting bolts loosen, a problem less common in other brands due to LG's specific torque specifications and thread-locking compound application.
