LG-manufactured Kenmore models (587 series) have their own distinct failure pattern - the sump assembly often develops hairline cracks due to the specific plastic composition used in these units. Unlike other brands, these Kenmore models use a two-piece sump design that makes repairs more complex but allows for targeted component replacement. The drain hose connection point on these units is also positioned differently, making them susceptible to stress-related leaking that doesn't occur in other dishwasher brands.
