Frigidaire Microwave Sparking Inside

Frigidaire microwaves are particularly susceptible to interior sparking due to their waveguide cover design and cavity construction. Unlike some competitors, many Frigidaire models use a thinner mica waveguide cover that's positioned lower in the cavity ceiling, making it more vulnerable to grease splatter and food debris accumulation. The Gallery and Professional series models are especially prone to this issue because their larger cavities create more opportunities for food particles to reach the waveguide area during cooking cycles.

Additionally, Frigidaire's turntable coupling mechanism in models manufactured after 2015 uses a plastic drive bushing that can wear down and create metal-on-metal contact, leading to arcing. The brand's interior cavity paint formulation has also been problematic in certain production runs, with the coating deteriorating prematurely and exposing the underlying metal, which creates spark points when microwaves bounce off bare metal surfaces.
