Frigidaire Dryer Won't Start

Frigidaire dryers are particularly susceptible to won't start issues due to their sensitive safety interlock systems and the design of their control panels. Unlike some other brands that use simpler mechanical switches, Frigidaire models, especially those manufactured after 2010, rely on electronic control boards that communicate with multiple safety sensors simultaneously. When any one of these sensors fails or sends an incorrect signal, the entire system shuts down as a protective measure.

The most notorious issue with Frigidaire dryers is the door switch assembly, which tends to fail prematurely compared to other brands. Frigidaire uses a three-wire door switch system that's more complex than the simple two-wire systems found on many competitors. This design makes Frigidaire units more prone to door switch failures, particularly in the FFRE and FASE series where the door switch mounting bracket can crack, causing intermittent contact issues that prevent startup.
