Frigidaire Dryer Not Heating

Frigidaire dryers are particularly susceptible to heating issues due to their high-limit thermostat design and thermal fuse placement. Unlike other brands that use resettable thermal protectors, Frigidaire units rely on single-use thermal fuses positioned near the blower housing, making them more prone to failure from lint accumulation or restricted airflow. The brand's Affinity and Gallery series are especially known for premature thermal fuse failures, often occurring within 3-5 years of ownership.

Frigidaire's heating element design also contributes to no-heat problems. Their coil-style elements, particularly in electric models from 2008-2015, tend to develop stress fractures at the mounting points where the element connects to the housing. This design weakness, combined with Frigidaire's tendency to run hotter operating temperatures than competitors, creates a perfect storm for heating element burnout. Gas models face similar issues with their igniter assemblies, which Frigidaire sources from different suppliers than other major brands, leading to unique failure patterns.
