Bosch Oven & Range Self-Clean Not Working

Bosch ovens utilize a sophisticated thermal management system that differs significantly from American-made units. The German engineering employs precise temperature sensors and a dual-stage door locking mechanism that must achieve exact specifications before the self-clean cycle initiates. Unlike other brands, Bosch ovens feature a thermal cut-off sensor positioned near the cavity ceiling that frequently fails due to the extreme heat cycling during self-clean operations, causing the cycle to abort prematurely.

The control electronics in Bosch units are particularly sensitive to voltage fluctuations during the high-temperature self-clean process. The main control board (often the ERC or EOC board) contains specialized German-manufactured relays that control the heating elements and door lock sequence. When these components degrade, the oven may display error codes like E011 or E115, or simply refuse to enter self-clean mode. The door lock motor assembly is also prone to binding due to Bosch's tighter tolerances, especially in models manufactured between 2018-2022.
