Bosch Dryer Won't Start

Bosch dryers utilize a sophisticated German-engineered control system that differs significantly from domestic brands. The WTG and WTW series models employ a unique multi-stage safety interlock system that can prevent startup when any single component fails. Unlike American-made dryers that often have simple door switches, Bosch units feature a dual-contact door locking mechanism that must properly engage before the control board allows operation. This precision engineering, while reliable long-term, creates more potential failure points that can cause complete startup failure.

The most common culprit in Bosch dryer startup issues is the thermal management system. Bosch dryers run at lower temperatures than most brands but use more sophisticated thermal monitoring. The overheat protection circuit includes multiple thermal sensors that communicate with the main control board. When these sensors age or become contaminated with lint, they can send false signals that prevent the dryer from starting, even when temperatures are normal.
